| | | LEAGUES The Norwell Little League is made up of five leagues. Each league is based on National Little League age requirements and in some cases ability. Age requirements follow the National Little League Rule which uses a cut-off date of 4/30. To determine a player's age under Little League guidelines, please click here. Norwell Little League makes every effort to ensure that individual players are in a division where they will be able to learn, have fun and compete. The following is a brief description of each of the leagues within Norwell Little League as well as a link to the respective leagues rules. For general Rules of Play please visit our Rules of Play page. | Instructional | For boys and girls 6 - 7 years old (by 4/30/07) who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Instructional League Rules | | Farm | For boys and girls 7 & 8 years old (8 by 4/30/07). Coaches pitch the first half of the season and players pitch the second. There are 10 players on the filed, catcher, pitcher, 4 infielders and 4 outfielders spread across, no short fielder. Farm Rules | | College | For boys and girls 8 & 9 (by 4/30/07) Player pitch. Nine players on the field. College League Rules | | Minor | For boys and girls 10 & 11 (by 4/30/07). Minor League Rules | | Major | For boys and girls 11 & 12 (by 4/30/07). Eleven years old spots filled by tryouts and availability. Major League Rules | Senior | For boys and girls 13 & 14 (by 4/30/07). |
